Council’s Strengthening Communities Fund open for applications

Community organisations have until 14 April to apply to the Council for support through the Strengthening Communities Fund. This fund supports community-focused organisations whose projects contribute to the strengthening of community wellbeing in the Christchurch city area.

Applications can be for operating costs such as salaries, power, rent, and administration, and/or for project costs such as community programmes, events, activities and equipment.

Easter changes to kerbside collection

Changes to kerbside rubbish collection over Easter: the service will not be operating on Good Friday – 7 April 2023 – so pop your bins out for collection on Saturday instead. Redwood Park pathway renewals

Work to renew the pathways within Redwood Park is commencing, and is expected to take until mid-May. Sections of the existing footpath will be closed to the public during construction activities, with temporary alternative access put in place. See the notice for more information.

Greater Christchurch survey closes 26 March

The Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri districts are growing rapidly, with our population potentially doubling to 1 million people within the next 60 years, if not earlier. How can we grow in a way that will provide a good quality of life while also tackling important issues such as responding to climate change, preserving the environment, making our region more resilient to natural disasters, and making housing more affordable?
