A reminder that Neighbourhood Week funding applications are due by 5pm next Friday 1 September 2017. Applications from individuals getting together and holding a local gathering will take priority over those held by organisations. The ‘week’ runs from 27 October 2017 to 31 March 2018, with a focus on local gatherings that bring people together. Click through to the Christchurch City Council website for more information:

Minister signs off Cranford Regeneration Plan

A regeneration plan enabling around 370 new houses to be built near Papanui and St Albans has been approved today. The Plan requires developers to prepare a hydro-geological plan for managing groundwater to be approved by the Council prior to any subdivision consent being approved. Following this, land owners will need to submit subdivision and land use consents in accordance with the District Plan. The first houses are expected to be ready by the end of 2020.
