The location of the Christchurch Northern Community Market has changed slightly within the Redwood Hotel Grounds to behind the Liquorland (off Prestons Road), with plenty of parking next to the market.
With the Autumn/Winter season upon us the hours have changed to 10am to 1pm.
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board will meet this Thursday 13 April at 4pm in the Papanui boardroom.
The agenda includes: public participation; proposed parking controls for Dorset Street and Dawson Street; four applications to the Board’s Discretionary Response Fund; and an area report on initiatives and issues within the Board area.
The meeting is open for the public to attend and will be livestreamed on the Board’s Facebook and YouTube channels. Click through to read the full agenda:
Community organisations have until 14 April to apply to the Council for support through the Strengthening Communities Fund. This fund supports community-focused organisations whose projects contribute to the strengthening of community wellbeing in the Christchurch city area.
Applications can be for operating costs such as salaries, power, rent, and administration, and/or for project costs such as community programmes, events, activities and equipment.
Over the next month you may see an increase in resurfacing activity on the city’s roads, in particular in the east, central city, and northwest. Click through for more information on the Council’s road resurfacing programme:

Te Ora Hou ÅŒtautahi on Windermere Road is one of the sites featured in this year’s Open Christchurch festival of architecture. See this Facebook post or head to the Open Christchurch website for more information. Think Papanui’s curator Simon Britten will be one of the hosts at Te Ora Hou.
Implementation of the second half of the Papanui slow speed neighbourhood will be underway in the next few days. These changes were approved by the Council last year following public consultation and a recommendation by the Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board. See the notice for more details.
