Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board agenda: 18 March
The Waipapa/Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday 18 March at 9:30am.
The agenda includes:

- public participation;
- reclassification of a reserve and granting of easements to enable subdivision at Spring Grove in Belfast;
- a 40 km/h speed zone for Shirley;
- a programme of road upgrades and improvements in Richmond;
- road renewals for Nicholls St and Stapletons Rd;
- no stopping restrictions in the Grampian-Jocelyn St slip lane;
- and an area report on initiatives and issues current within the Community Board area.

Back in Papanui: Sweet handcrafted rock candy
Handcrafted rock candy artists Sweet have moved back to Papanui! You might remember their Northlands store from a few years back, and now you can head to 82 Harris Crescent to watch candy being made and shop from their range. They’ll be open tomorrow 9am-4:30pm and then regular hours will be Tuesday to Saturday.
Organic bin collections delayed in north-west Christchurch Friday 11 March

Draft Annual Plan includes funding for Greers/Langdons lights
The Christchurch City Council’s budget for 2022/23 outlines proposed spending on projects and day-to-day services as well as how these activities will be financed. New in this budget is funding for traffic lights at the Greers/Langdons Rd intersection. Staffing shortages impacting on kerbside collection service
Christchurch’s kerbside bin collection service is starting to be impacted by staff shortages caused by rising COVID-19 case numbers. This may result in bins being collected later in the day, and delays in services such as bin swaps and repairs. “Please continue to put your bins out if they need emptying”, says the Council, but “If your bin is not full and you can hold off until the next collection cycle without having to overload it, please don’t put your bin out.” Read more:

QEII Drive resurfacing from 10 March
There will be staged one-way closures on QEII Drive between Main North Road and the CNC motorway starting 10 March, for the application of low-noise asphalt. Keep an eye out for closures between 8pm and 6am, and note that there may be temporary speed restrictions in place also.
PLAN AHEAD: SH74 QUEEN ELIZABETH II DR – ONE WAY NIGHT CLOSURES STARTING 10 MARCH
SH74 QEII Dr will have staged one-way closures in place for resurfacing works between Christchurch Northern Corridor motorway overbridge (the double roundabout) and Main North Rd.
All one-way closures will be in place between 8 pm and 6 am. Please follow all temporary speed restrictions that may be in place at all times. A posted detour will be in place.
