The Christchurch City Council is in the process of releasing a draft long term plan for 2018-2028. This is a big picture plan that must be prepared every three years, outlining the what, when, and how of planned Council spending. The draft plan will be considered by Council this Wednesday 21 Feb, after which it is due to be released for feedback. Submissions will likely be able to be made from Friday 9 March to 13 April 2018. Click through for more information, and keep an eye on Council communication channels (and Think Papanui) for updates.
The Christchurch City Council is proposing raising rates by an average of 5.5 per cent from July this year, which is below what was forecast for 2018-19 in the previous Long Term Plan 2015-2025.
