A September project update has information on the final low-noise asphalt to be applied on the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC), as well as noise monitoring results and comparisons with noise on other Christchurch roads. The update states that current noise levels on the CNC “compared well” with the noise levels for other roads in Christchurch. The final chip seal and then low-noise asphalt layers will be laid starting in mid to late October, as soon as the weather is dry and the ground temperatures are warm enough. The first section planned to receive this treatment is in the Redwood area, between QEII Drive and the Styx Bridge. Click through to read more:
