Council defers decision on Cranford lanes

Today’s Council agenda item to decide the layout of Cranford Street between Innes Rd and Berwick St has been left to lie on the table to be considered at an extraordinary meeting on Thursday 26 November at 12pm, which allows time for further advice to be sought. At today’s meeting, representatives of two of the Council’s ‘Greater Christchurch’ partners (Ecan & Waimakariri District Council) spoke in support of peak-time Bus Only lanes, while another (Waka Kotahi / NZTA) pushed for clearways for general traffic. MP for Christchurch Central Dr Duncan Webb (pictured) asked Councillors to prioritise a bus or high occupancy lane.
