The Cranford Regeneration Plan has been released today

The Cranford Regeneration Plan has been released today by Christchurch City Council for public feedback. Click through for the plan, as well as technical reports and an online feedback form. The plan is open for feedback until 2 May, and there are two drop-in sessions in the coming weeks.

Christchurch City Council is seeking public comments on its draft Cranford Regeneration Plan, which focuses on the regeneration of about 125 hectares of land on the western side of the upper end of Cranford St.

A large part of that area is made up of the Cranford Basin – a major natural ponding and stormwater management area that is critical to reducing the flood risk.

Over the next decade there are plans to transform Cranford Basin into a multi-purpose forested wetland with walking and cycle paths.

Christchurch Northern Corridor Open Day

Reminders: the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) Open Day is tomorrow from 2pm – more information below. Other current/upcoming community engagement opportunities include: consultation on the City Council’s draft Annual Plan and nominations for Community Service Awards (both open now); and from later this week feedback on the Cranford Regeneration Plan. The Community Open Day is a chance to meet the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) team, find out about the project and ask questions.
There will be presentations, machinery on display and information available on the project.
People will also be able to see the innovative construction methods that will be used and have their say on urban design and landscaping concepts.
Bring the family, kids will be able to get up close to diggers and trucks, make a windmill and play games.
Papanui Primary School will have a sausage sizzle fundraiser going-so bring a gold coin donation.
Free entry.
