Reminder: bus route changes from Monday 29 October
A reminder that from Monday 29 October, bus routes in Papanui (and other parts of the city) are changing. The 108 will be discontinued, the 107 has timetable changes, and the 28 will be extended to mostly replace the 108 (but with some differences in both route and timetable). Updated maps and timetables can be found at the Papanui Library, and online via http://www.metroinfo.co.nz/Pages/default.aspx

The agenda includes: a request by Council staff for the Board to endorse a study of the Harewood Road corridor (a 122-page attachment covering a range of issues including a major cycle route on Harewood Road, remodelling of intersections, re-routing of traffic from Harewood to Sawyers Arms Road, a 'strong recommendation' against signals at the Harewood/Breens/Gardiners intersection…); proposed P3 parking restrictions for Prestons Road (outside Redwood School) and Tuckers Road (outside Northcote School); and No Stopping restrictions for Momorangi Crescent. A signalised pedestrian crossing for Papanui Road?
This week's Nor'West News reports that Papanui Road outside St Andrew's College is set to have a signalised pedestrian crossing installed, following a recommendation to the City Council by the Waimāero/Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board. The site was assessed as having the highest priority in Christchurch for a signalised crossing to support school safety.
Chaneys offramp closure: 25 October to 2 November
There may be heavier traffic down Main North Road & on Prestons Road (through to Marshland Road) from 25 October to 2 November, due to the closure of the Chaneys / Empire Road offramp – see this information from the Christchurch Northern Corridor project for more details.
Papanui bus routes changing from Monday 29 October
Bus routes in the Papanui area are changing from Monday 29 October. The 108 Northlands-Casebrook will no longer operate, but will be mostly replaced by an extension to the 28 Lyttelton-Papanui service which will be renamed the 28 Lyttelton-Casebrook. The 107 Styx Mill-Northlands will be reduced in frequency.
