Good news for cyclists / motorists take care: Northern Line Cycleway construction is commencing at the Harewood Road / Restell Street intersection. The work includes a new cycle/pedestrian crossing at the Harewood Road railway crossing.
Free swimming at the Graham Condon Recreation & Sport Centre (and all Christchurch City Council pools) for pre-schoolers and one accompanying caregiver from 9am to 3pm on school days from 1 September 2017 to 13 April 2018. Green Prescription holders also get free access at these times.

Road closed: if you’re in the Barnes Road area, or use Barnes Rd to access Cavendish Rd, please note that the current closure at the Barnes/Cavendish intersection looks set to continue for another week or two.
Traffic updates and delays
A reminder that Neighbourhood Week funding applications are due by 5pm next Friday 1 September 2017. Applications from individuals getting together and holding a local gathering will take priority over those held by organisations. Neighbourhood Week is back again, this time for the entire summer from 27 October 2017 to 31 March 2018! It’s about bringing people together, so why not organise a local gathering to get to know your neighbours, community, family group, or sports team!
A regeneration plan enabling around 370 new houses to be built near Papanui and St Albans has been approved today. The Plan requires developers to prepare a hydro-geological plan for managing groundwater to be approved by the Council prior to any subdivision consent being approved. Following this, land owners will need to submit subdivision and land use consents in accordance with the District Plan. The first houses are expected to be ready by the end of 2020. Minister signs off Cranford Regeneration Plan
A regeneration plan enabling around 370 new houses to be built near Papanui and St Albans has been approved today.
The Papanui-Innes Community Board will meet this Friday 25 August at 9am in the Papanui Boardroom. The agenda includes parking restrictions in Loftus Street, the relocation of a bus stop on Papanui Road, and approval of the Papanui-Innes Community Board Plan for distribution to the community.
