Unconfirmed minutes of last week’s Papanui-Innes Community Board meeting are now available. Funding applications from the Shirley Toy Library & Papanui Youth Development Trust were approved. Some traffic/parking changes were approved but a traffic island at the Fraser/Cranford intersection (pictured) will be considered at a later date. The next board meeting is planned for 9:30am on 24 Feb.

Planning approval declined for $50 million Papanui rest home rebuild and expansion

Good news for all the concerned residents that would have been impacted by this redevelopment. Although rest homes are important and will become increasingly more important in the years to come they need to fit into the existing environment. This is another successful outcome for Papanui residents following last year’s density rezoning decision.
