From Friday 11 October traffic on QEII Drive will be changed over to use the first part of the interchange that is being constructed for the Christchurch Northern Corridor. Watch out for a 30km/h zone and changed conditions in the area. For more information see the project update at:

Ready to reopen: Redwood Library’s repairs are complete, the books are back in place, and it’s looking all set to welcome the public from this Monday the 7th of October.

Top post of the week was last weekend’s news that NZTA funding is now confirmed, and construction of the Main North Road bus priority project is due to commence early in 2020.
I shared an action photo from Monday evening’s ‘meet the candidates’ forum hosted by the St Albans Residents’ Association.
I shared news of a cycle skills session for adults, being held today (Friday 4 October) at Northcote School.
I shared updated information about roadworks on St James Avenue.
Voting papers for our local body elections need to be returned in the post by 5pm this Tuesday 8 October, or can be hand delivered to Council libraries / service centres until noon on Saturday 12 October.

Go Cycle Christchurch will run a free cycle skills session for adults this Friday 4 October at Northcote Primary School. Last night the St Albans Residents' Association hosted a 'meet the candidates' forum, featuring candidates for Mayor and Environment Canterbury, as well as Council and Community Board candidates from four Wards, including Papanui (pictured). Our Council has received confirmation of NZ Transport Agency funding for the Main North Road bus priority project, which will improve bus travel times and reliability through the Papanui area. Work is expected to commence early in 2020, and mainly involves line markings and road layout changes, some kerb and footpath realignment, along with full signalisation of the Grassmere St / Main North Rd intersection.
