Community Board meeting outcomes: 11 September 2025

On 11 September 2025, the Waipapa Papanui-Innes-Central Community Board:

  • heard one public forum presentation, and 8 deputations relating to items on the meeting agenda;
  • received a briefing on the proposal for developing the Westminster Depot site as a Pacific Hub;
  • approved the developed design for the Shirley Community Facility, with changes;
  • received a briefing on the Council’s Surface Flooding Reduction Programme;
  • approved the planting and removal of trees in Papanui Domain as proposed in the Urban Forest Tree Planting Plan;
  • approved no stopping restrictions for Windermere Road at the Bellevue Care Centre and Village;
  • approved 33 ‘Summer with your neighbours’ grants totalling just over $4,000;
  • approved grants from the Board’s Discretionary Response Fund to Shirley Rugby League Club and Casebook Intermediate School;
  • and received an Area Report on issues and initiatives within the Board area.

This was the last meeting of the board prior to the 2025 local government election.
