More preparatory work as part of the Christchurch Northern Corridor project

[ad_1]
More preparatory work as part of the Christchurch Northern Corridor project…

This is one of the 18 houses that had to be relocated, demolished or removed to make way for the new Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) which is under construction.
It is getting a second chance in the west of Christchurch on a farm.

Some of the other houses weren’t in such great condition and couldn’t be relocated but they were put to good use before they were demolished.
Armed police and fire fighters tested their tactics and best practices in the buildings while they were still standing, blowing up doors and smashing brick walls. They also set them on fire so they could practise climbing roofs and crawling through a smoky hallway. ND

Find out more about the CNC project here: www.nzta.govt.nz/cnc
