Harewood Road Corridor Study – update

At the Council meeting on Thursday 6 December 2018, there were two agenda items related to this study.

Agenda item 13, the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood Community Board’s recommendation that the Council receive the Harewood Road corridor study and recommended strategies.
This motion was carried, although not supported by Cr Aaron Keown, who raised issues with discrepencies in the report.

Agenda item 14, the Papanui-Innes Community Board’s recommendations that the Council:
– endorses the study
– also four other recommendations, too detailed for this post, see the Council agenda for details.
This motion was also carried.

This study was requested by Council in June 2017, in order to identify priorities for intersection improvements and renewals works. No doubt future projects along the corridor will now be informed by this study.
